Fire District Information
The Mt. Zion Fire Protection District operates as a professional organization, which is proud to serve the community. Established in 1946, as a Volunteer Fire Department, with 30 active Volunteer Firefighters and two full time and three part time employees. The District encompasses 42 sq. miles, serving the Village of Mt. Zion and Mt. Zion Township (pop.6,000) The Fire District provides Fire Suppression, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services (Intermediate Life Support level) while operating 8 pieces of Fire Apparatus from 1 Fire Station and responds to over 500 Emergency and Non-Emergency calls for service annually.

| | Mutual Aid Fire to Long Creek Firehouse Rd. | | Tue. Aug 30th 2011 | We responded to a call for a garage fire with Long Creek Fire. Upon arrival firefighters found the garage fully involved in fire. Mt. Zion assisted in extinguishing the fire and overhauling. No injuries were reported and the garage was a complete loss.
