2009 Polaris Ranger

The Polaris Ranger is a Mabas Division 46 resource housed at the Mt. Zion Fire Department. It is available to all departments in Mabas Division 46 and can be requested by contacting Chief Wright.

Engine 1 is a Class A Pumper. It has the ability to pump 1,250 gallons per minute and carries 1,000 gallons of water on board.

1993 GMC S&S

Rescue 3 is a 4wd light rescue vehicle. It has the ability to pump 300 gallons a minute and carries 200 gallons of water on board.

Engine 2 is a Class A Pumper. It has the ability to pump 1,250 gallons per minute and carries 1,000 gallons of water on board.

 
 
Fire Safety House


1986 Fire Safety House

The Fire Safety House is a scaled down version of a two story frame house. It was built in 1986 for the Decatur Fire Department after generous monetary and labor donations from both Archer Daniels Midland Corporation and the Decatur Housing and Construction Trades Council. Decatur used the safety house until 2000 when they upgraded to a bigger model and graciously donated their old Safety House to the Mt. Zion Fire Protection District. Today it is used throughout the year to teach children the importance of fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire. We also allow any of the area fire departments use of the house to assist in their fire prevention programs.

Engine 3 is a Class A Pumper. It has the ability to pump 1,250 gallons per minute and carries 1,000 gallons of water on board.

 
 
Rescue 2


1978 Oshkosh

Rescue 2 is an aiport rescue vehilce that was obtained from the Decatur Airport through an Inter-Local Governmental Agreement at no cost. It can be used for a multitude of tasks such as Airplane Crashes, Hazardous Materials Incidents, Field Fires. It has the ability to pump 1,200 gallons per minute and carries 1,500 gallons of water and 180 gallons of foam on board.

 
 



Fire Safety Tips

Use Eletricity Safely

If an appliance smokes or has an unusual smell, unplug it immediately and have it repaired. Replace frayed or cracked electrical cords and don't overload extension cords. They should not be run under rugs. Never tamper with the fuse box or use the improper size fuse.
