Third alarm fire in Cerro Gordo

Sun. Jun 27th 2010

On 06/27/10 Mt. Zion was paged out on a third alarm to Cerro Gordo for a house fire. Upon our arrival the fire had been knocked. Cerro Gordo requested the use of Tower 1 to assist in ventilation since the peaks on the roof had steep angles. Tower 1 was set and assisted in the ventilation and providing lighting for the scene.

If an appliance smokes or has an unusual smell, unplug it immediately and have it repaired. Replace frayed or cracked electrical cords and don't overload extension cords. They should not be run under rugs. Never tamper with the fuse box or use the improper size fuse.
